Wind Shifter (Air Density Separator-ADS)

Overview

The Wind Shifter, also known as an Air Density Separator (ADS), is a high-efficiency segregation machine used in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), RDF processing, Biomining, and Fresh Waste Treatment Plants. It separates light combustible fractions (such as plastics, paper, and packaging material) from heavy inert fractions (stones, glass, metals, and debris) using a controlled stream of air.

This separation is crucial for producing high-quality RDF fluff for cement plants and reducing wear-and-tear on shredders by removing heavy materials.

Working Principle

  • Waste enters the Wind Shifter through a controlled feeding conveyor.
  • A strong air stream is generated inside the separation chamber.
  • Lighter fractions (combustibles) are lifted and discharged through one outlet.
  • Heavier fractions (inerts) fall due to gravity and are discharged separately.
  • Adjustable air velocity, nozzle angle, and blower power ensure maximum recovery efficiency.
